What is FGF5? 

FGF5 is a naturally occurring protein in the scalp that plays a role in signalling the end of the hair growth phase. In a typical hair cycle, this is followed by a new growth phase. However, factors such as stress, hormonal changes, nutritional deficiencies, aging, or genetics may contribute to elevated FGF5 activity, which has been associated with increased shedding and slower regrowth.

Bouf’s formula includes ingredients that have been studied for their potential to inhibit FGF5 activity. By supporting a balanced hair cycle, Bouf helps promote the appearance of healthier, fuller-looking hair over time.

What types of hair fall/shedding does Bouf help?

Hair fall can occur due to various factors that affect the natural hair growth cycle, including:

  • Hormonal changes (e.g. menopause or postpartum)
  • Illness or high fever
  • Stress and lifestyle factors
  • Naturally fine or thinning hair
  • Genetic predisposition to hair thinning

Bouf is formulated to support the appearance of thicker, fuller-looking hair and to help care for hair that may be experiencing temporary thinning. While it’s not a treatment for medical hair loss conditions, Bouf can be a supportive part of a healthy haircare routine.

Is Bouf suitable for gluten sensitive people? 

Bouf contains hydrolysed wheat, but this has been extensively broken down and it is unlikely to be allergenic however we recommend doing a patch test first if you have any concerns.

Is Bouf pregnancy and breastfeeding safe? 

The Bouf range is suitable for pregnant and breastfeeding people to use, excluding our Flouf Factor Growth™ Supplement. All ingredients in the haircare range are approved for use in cosmetics and are safe at the levels used.

The formula does contain standard fragrance ingredients and naturally occurring fragrance allergens (e.g linalool, geraniol, limonene) which are present at very low levels. Some pregnant people may choose to avoid fragrances and fragrance allergens during pregnancy as their skin may be more sensitive during this time. There is no known risk to pregnancy or breastfeeding from topical use of the ingredients in any of the Bouf formulas. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, we recommend consulting with your healthcare provider before introducing new products into your routine. 

Flouf Factor Growth Supplements are not suitable for those who are pregnant and breastfeeding.

If I stop using Bouf, will I experience excessive hair fall or shedding? 

The short answer is no! If you stop using Bouf, you will stop seeing the benefits of the range, but this is gradual not sudden and will not result in rapid hair fall.

Can men use Bouf?

Yes, most definitely.  The underlying hair cycle changes seen in hair loss are the same in men and women.  There may be different root causes, e.g. hormones, stress, diet, genetics, but they all result in hair cycle shortening via the hair loss gene/protein FGF5

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping costs vary depending on your location:

Australia:

  • Standard Shipping: $7.99 AUD (Free on orders over $60 AUD)
  • Express Shipping: $12.99 AUD

New Zealand:

  • Express International Shipping: $15 NZD (Free on orders over $60 NZD)

United Kingdom:

  • Standard International Shipping: £20

United States:

  • Express International Shipping: $25 USD

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

All orders are packed and shipped from our warehouse in Australia. Our warehouse processes orders Monday-Friday, excluding public holidays.

Delivery times vary depending on your location:

Australia:

  • Standard Shipping: 2–8 business days
  • Express Shipping: 1–4 business days

New Zealand:

  • Express International Shipping: 2–5 business days

 United Kingdom:

  • Standard International Shipping: 3-5 business days

United States:

  • Express International Shipping: 3-6 business days

Where do you ship?

We currently ship to Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Who do you use for shipping?

All Australian orders are sent via Australia Post.

All UK orders are sent via DHL Ecommerce.

All NZ and USA orders are sent via Australia Post International Express.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we currently ship to New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Can I change my shipping address after I place my order?

If you need to change your order, please email hello@bouf.com with your order details as soon as possible, and we will do our best to help. Unfortunately, once the order has been processed, we are unable to stop or edit any order details.

Returns & Refunds

What is your returns & refunds policy?

We get it - sometimes things don’t work out. If you’ve had a change of heart, you can return any unused, unopened item within 30 days of purchase. If you’ve been using a product consistently for 90 days and haven’t seen the results you expected, we also offer a 90-day money-back guarantee.

In both cases, please reach out to us before sending anything back so we can confirm your eligibility and provide return instructions. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer, and refunds are issued to your original payment method (excluding shipping fees).

What if my product is faulty or damaged?

We’ll happily replace any item that arrives faulty or damaged.

Please contact us before sending any items back.

To request a replacement:

Email us at hello@bouf.com with:

  • Your full name
  • Order number
  • Clear photos/videos of the item and the issue
  • A brief description of the problem

Our team will review your request and confirm the next steps.

Important: Be sure to include your full name and order number either on or inside the parcel, so we can match it to your claim.

What if I receive incorrect item/s?

If you have received an incorrect item in your order, please email our team at hello@bouf.com once you have received your parcel with a photo of the product/s you received and the delivery parcel they came in.

Our team will then contact you to organise a replacement and return of the incorrect item. Please do not open or dispose of the item/s until our team has contacted you.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

Customers are responsible for covering return postage costs for both change-of-mind returns and 90-day results guarantee claims. Please note that return shipping fees are non-refundable. We strongly recommend using a tracked shipping service to ensure your parcel arrives safely.

What if I purchase from external retailers such as Priceline?

We can only accept returns for products purchased directly from bouf.com.

If you bought Bouf products from another retailer (e.g. Priceline, Atomica, Farmers), please contact them directly to arrange a return or refund.

What if I have an allergy/adverse reaction?

If you believe you have experienced an allergic or adverse reaction to one of our products, please discontinue use immediately. If symptoms persist, consult your doctor. We kindly ask that you email our team at hello@bouf.com with the following details:

  • Product name
  • Batch number (if available)
  • A description of your reaction

Our team will review the information and get in touch via email to guide you through the next steps.

Please note, that we recommend patch testing the Flouf Factor Growth™ Tonic on a small area of your scalp prior to full application.

How is a refund processed?

Once we’ve received and inspected your returned item or approved your refund claim, we’ll notify you via email. If eligible, your refund will be issued to your original payment method (excluding shipping and handling costs).

When can I expect my refund?

Please allow up to 10 business days for the funds to appear in your account, depending on your bank or payment provider.

How do I track my order?

Once your order has been shipped, you’ll receive a confirmation email (and a tracking number and a link to track your package once your order has been shipped). You can also track your order by logging into your account on our website and visiting the "My Orders" section.

Can I change or cancel my order after I have placed it?

Yes! You have a 60‑minute window after placing your order to make any edits - such as changing your email address, shipping details, or even cancelling your order. You can do this directly from the confirmation page or via your Bouf account.

Beyond that 60‑minute timeframe, changes or cancellations are no longer possible through our system, as the order moves into processing. If you need assistance after this period, please contact us at hello@bouf.com, and we'll do our best to support you.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept a variety of secure payment methods, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Shop Pay.

Want to shop now and pay later? We also offer Afterpay at checkout, so you can split your purchase into interest-free payments.

Is it safe to use my credit card on bouf.com?

Yes, absolutely. We use secure, encrypted payment technology to protect your information, and your credit card details are never stored on our site.

All transactions are processed through trusted, PCI DSS-compliant payment gateways using advanced security protocols like SSL and TLS to keep your data safe from fraud or theft.

When will my credit card be charged?

Your credit card will be charged as soon as your order is confirmed at checkout.

You’ll receive an order confirmation email right after your payment is successfully processed.

I can't login/forgot my password!

If you can’t log in or forgot your password, don’t worry - it’s easy to reset!

Go to my account and select "Forgot your password?" and follow the prompts. You’ll receive an email with instructions to create a new password.

Can I purchase Bouf in person?

Yes, Bouf is currently stocked in Priceline and Atomica (in Australia) and Farmers in New Zealand. Head to our store locator to find the location nearest to you.
